A Little Backstory
My name is Nikki; I survive on coffee, procrastination, and sunny days. My true enjoyments in life are growing flowers, laughing, traveling, and making true connections.
I was born and raised in Caldwell, Idaho and grew up on the back of a horse amid my family’s cattle operations. If you would’ve told me five years ago that I would be a flower farmer in my future — I wouldn’t have believed you, but here we are 🙂
In 2019, Lovely Hollow Farm was established. It was just me and a few rows of flowers I had grown from seeds in my laundry room.
And it was perfect. And small. And intimate. I was able to meet and get to know so many of you. Sharing the farm is truly something I enjoy doing. It fills my cup in every way.
2020 was a magnificent season, and 2021 even more so.
As much as I love the flowers and the beauty of a freshly-opened dahlia or fragrant sweet pea… it is always so much more than that to me.
It’s the gasp of someone who discovers the row of flowers their grandmother used to grow. The exclamation of kids as they play dragons with the snapdragon petals. It’s the connection a group of friends have found over meeting at the farm and catching up. It’s the fathers grumbling about being towed out to the flower farm — but they are the last ones to leave. It’s meeting the new mothers with their babies’ first outing. It’s hugging or crying with someone who just needs a break from stresses in life; to rest amongst the blooms.
There are so many moments curated by this flower farm. I am forever grateful to have a front-row seat to them.
Personally, Lovely Hollow has changed my life in more ways than I can list. She has been the calm to the chaos; the anchor to the storm.
And when things sometimes seem unpassable, insurmountable — she is always there to show you that life has seasons.
And that at the end of it all… The sun will always shine.
And without fail — the flowers always bloom.
